How to set up IPTV Quebec on Chromecast
How you set up depends on your model. Chromecast with Google TV works like any Google TV device. Older Chromecasts without a remote receive the stream from your phone.

Step by step
Check which Chromecast you have
If it came with a remote, it is a Chromecast with Google TV: install a player from the Apps tab and follow our Android TV guide. If it has no remote, continue with the steps below.
Install a cast-enabled player on your phone
On your Android phone or iPhone, install an IPTV player that supports Chromecast casting, and log in with your Xtream Codes details or M3U link.
Cast to the TV
Make sure the phone and the Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network. Start a channel in the player and tap the cast icon.
Make it yours
Add the channels you watch most to Favourites, set the player’s time zone to your own (for example America/Toronto) so the guide shows your local times, and open a live channel to check picture and sound.
Tips for the best picture
- Google stopped selling Chromecast in 2024. Its successor, the Google TV Streamer, has a remote and an Ethernet port.
- When casting, keep the phone near the router: the stream passes through your Wi-Fi.
- Changing channels while casting is slower than with a remote-controlled device.
Troubleshooting
“Login failed” or “Invalid credentials”
Check the server URL character by character, including http:// and the port. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Copying them from the email on a phone and typing slowly helps.
Channels buffer or freeze
Move to a wired connection or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the device and router, and pause downloads elsewhere in the house. If it continues, switch to the backup server line from your welcome email or message live support.
The program guide is empty
Give it a few minutes after the first login, then refresh or update the EPG in the player’s settings. Make sure the device’s date and time are set automatically.
Questions about Chromecast
Does casting use my phone’s mobile data?
No, as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi. The Chromecast fetches the stream over your home internet.
Is a Chromecast good for watching every day?
Chromecast with Google TV is excellent. Older models without a remote are fine for occasional viewing, but a remote-based device is more comfortable.
