How to set up IPTV Quebec on Roku
Roku works, but its store has fewer IPTV players than Fire TV or Google TV, and most of them use M3U playlists. Allow about seven minutes.

Step by step
Update the Roku
Go to Settings → System → System update → Check now.
Add a player from the Roku store
From the home screen, open the Streaming Store, search for an IPTV or M3U player and add it.
Enter your M3U link
Most Roku players use the M3U link from your welcome email rather than a username and password. Type or paste it carefully; some players let you enter it from a phone or computer instead.
Let the channels and guide load
The first time you log in, the player downloads the full channel list and the seven-day program guide. This can take a minute or two. Later starts are much faster.
Make it yours
Add the channels you watch most to Favourites, set the player’s time zone to your own (for example America/Toronto) so the guide shows your local times, and open a live channel to check picture and sound.
Tips for the best picture
- Roku players often have a simpler program guide than players on other platforms.
- If you want the full guide, catch-up and quick channel switching, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device is a better long-term choice.
- Roku TVs with an Ethernet port should use it for live sport.
Troubleshooting
“Login failed” or “Invalid credentials”
Check the server URL character by character, including http:// and the port. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Copying them from the email on a phone and typing slowly helps.
Channels buffer or freeze
Move to a wired connection or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the device and router, and pause downloads elsewhere in the house. If it continues, switch to the backup server line from your welcome email or message live support.
The program guide is empty
Give it a few minutes after the first login, then refresh or update the EPG in the player’s settings. Make sure the device’s date and time are set automatically.

Why is Roku rated “moderate”?
Because the store has fewer suitable players and most rely on M3U links, which take longer to type. Once set up, it works like any other device.
Can I sideload apps on Roku?
Not in the normal way. Roku only installs apps from its own store, which is why we recommend Fire TV or Google TV if you cannot find a suitable player.
