How to set up IPTV Quebec on Samsung Smart TV

Works with: Samsung smart TVs running Tizen, ideally from 2018 or later.

Step by step

1. Check your model and update it

   Update the TV under Settings → Support → Software Update. Models from 2018 or later have the best app choice.

2. Install a player

   Press Home, open Apps, select the search icon and look for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U. Install it.

3. Activate the player if it asks

   Some TV players show a device ID or MAC address on first launch. In that case you add your login on the player’s own website using that ID, instead of typing it on the TV. Follow the instructions shown on screen.

4. Enter your login details

   Open the player and choose the Xtream Codes login (some players call it “Xtream API” or “Login with username”). Type the server URL, username and password from your welcome email exactly as written, including http:// and any port number. If your player only accepts a playlist link, paste the M3U link from the same email instead.

5. Let the channels and guide load

   The first time you log in, the player downloads the full channel list and the seven-day program guide. This can take a minute or two. Later starts are much faster.

6. Make it yours

   Add the channels you watch most to Favourites, set the player’s time zone to your own (for example America/Toronto) so the guide shows your local times, and open a live channel to check picture and sound.

Tips for the best picture

• Samsung TVs switch to standby after a few hours without a button press. Turn this off in the eco or power-saving settings before an overnight event.
• Use the Ethernet port. Even a 100 Mbps TV port is more than enough for 4K.
• If the app store has no suitable player for your model, a Fire TV Stick is the quickest fix.
