How to set up IPTV Quebec on LG Smart TV
LG televisions running webOS can install IPTV players from the LG app store. The setup is very similar to Samsung and takes about six minutes.
Works with: LG smart TVs running webOS, ideally from 2018 or later.
Step by step
Update the TV
Check for updates in the TV’s Settings → Support menu (the exact path depends on your webOS version).
Install a player
Open the Apps store (formerly LG Content Store), search for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U and install it.
Activate the player if it asks
If the player shows a device ID or MAC address, add your login on the player’s website using that ID, as described on screen.
Enter your login details
Open the player and choose the Xtream Codes login (some players call it “Xtream API” or “Login with username”). Type the server URL, username and password from your welcome email exactly as written, including
http://and any port number. If your player only accepts a playlist link, paste the M3U link from the same email instead.Let the channels and guide load
The first time you log in, the player downloads the full channel list and the seven-day program guide. This can take a minute or two. Later starts are much faster.
Make it yours
Add the channels you watch most to Favourites, set the player’s time zone to your own (for example America/Toronto) so the guide shows your local times, and open a live channel to check picture and sound.
Tips for the best picture
- Turn off automatic standby in the power or eco settings before long sports nights.
- Connect the TV by cable if the router is within reach.
- The LG Magic Remote’s pointer makes the program guide quick to browse.
Troubleshooting
“Login failed” or “Invalid credentials”
Check the server URL character by character, including http:// and the port. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Copying them from the email on a phone and typing slowly helps.
Channels buffer or freeze
Move to a wired connection or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the device and router, and pause downloads elsewhere in the house. If it continues, switch to the backup server line from your welcome email or message live support.
The program guide is empty
Give it a few minutes after the first login, then refresh or update the EPG in the player’s settings. Make sure the device’s date and time are set automatically.
