How to set up IPTV Quebec on Android TV and Google TV

Works with: Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV, Xiaomi TV boxes and Sony, Philips and TCL televisions running Google TV.

Step by step

1. Update the system

   Connect to your network and check for updates under Settings → System → About → System update. The exact menu names vary slightly between manufacturers.

2. Install a player from Google Play

   Open the Google Play Store (on Google TV: the Apps tab), search for an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U and install it.

3. Enter your login details

   Open the player and choose the Xtream Codes login (some players call it “Xtream API” or “Login with username”). Type the server URL, username and password from your welcome email exactly as written, including http:// and any port number. If your player only accepts a playlist link, paste the M3U link from the same email instead.

4. Let the channels and guide load

   The first time you log in, the player downloads the full channel list and the seven-day program guide. This can take a minute or two. Later starts are much faster.

5. Make it yours

   Add the channels you watch most to Favourites, set the player’s time zone to your own (for example America/Toronto) so the guide shows your local times, and open a live channel to check picture and sound.

Tips for the best picture

• On many Google TV devices you can turn on Match content frame rate under Settings → Display & Sound → Advanced display settings.
• If your box has an Ethernet port, use it. The Google TV Streamer has one built in.
• Avoid uncertified “Android boxes” without Google Play. They rarely receive updates and are often slower than they look.
